For more than 15 years, Dana has built her career helping individuals and business owners navigate important financial decisions with confidence. From working with high-net-worth clients in the banking and financial services industry to partnering directly with small business owners as a business strategist, one thing has remained constant: a passion for helping people make sense of their finances. Dana founded Open Book Strategy after recognizing that many successful business owners have access to financial reports, but don't necessarily have someone helping them understand what those reports actually mean for their business. Through an approachable, judgment-free and plain-English style, Dana uniquely brings together financial acumen, strategic thinking and a genuine curiosity about each client's business. Raised in an entrepreneurial household, Dana understands firsthand the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that come with running your own business. She knows that being good at what you do doesn’t automatically mean having a background in business or finance....and it shouldn’t have to. She firmly believes every business owner deserves to feel informed and confident about the financial health of the business they’ve worked so hard to build.

When she’s not digging into numbers, Dana can usually be found chasing after her young son, Elvis, walking her COVID-attached Labradoodle, Maggie May, searching for the perfect matcha latte at a local coffee shop, or cheering on Chicago sports. She met her husband, Andrew, while living in Nashville, and they now call the Chicago suburbs home.
